Last night before going to sleep I put on the Miller Harris fragrance Fleur du Matin. I should have thought about the name before wearing it to bed. It's definitely a morning fragrance. The Miller Harris website gives the following description:
Miller Harris Fleur du Matin was inspired by the dew and herby floral bouquet of an early morning walk on the island of Port Cross.
During this fragrant journey, pine, marjoram, honeysuckle, jasmin and neroli are surrounded by galbanum (pictured), basil, grapefruit and lemon.
It's funny that lemon is the last word in the description, However, I would say that it's overwhelmingly a citrus fragrance. But, unlike many citrus fragrances, it's not all top notes, Fleur du Matin has a strong heart and base.
It's commonly said that citrus and lemon fragrances give you energy and (quite literally) zest for the day. Fleur du Matin definitely fulfills that brief. It's an energizing fragrance. If you enjoy citrus fragrances, or are looking for some energy, then Jasper Conran Woman is another excellent citrus fragrance to try. But if you're looking for a sultry, sexy evening jasmine fragrance, then MyPerfumeLife's recommendation is to try Jasmin Noir by Bvlgari.
Update 13th July 2010
I've updated my opinion of this perfume. Read MyPerfumeLife's July 2010 review of Fleur du Matin by Miller Harris.

A very, very pretty scent. My 14 yo daughter stole my decant of this, and it smells so wonderful on her I'm letting her keep it. It's so light and summery, and the herbs with the citrus and florals make it refreshing.
Now I see the note listing, I'll wager it was all those herbs that didn't work for me: basil and grapefruit, pine and marjoram are not amongst my favourite things and I think it seemed a strange combo with the honeysuckle. Galbanum I am okay with, mind. Different notes for different folks, as they say!
I am retesting this today and I like it better than I remember - the opening is a bit sharp, like Citron Citron, but it is quite nice when it softens down. Not overly distinctive, but fresh and not as herby as I remembered!
I agree with your 'not overly distinctive' comment. Is that what Lyn Harris aims for do you think? It's like she takes the edges off the perfume. I wasn't keen on that effect initially, but I'm beginning to appreciate it a bit more.
Hi Mals86, your daughter sounds lovely. So nice to hear about teenagers who want to smell 'pretty'. I can imagine this fragrance being great for a 14 year old.
