I was reading Pere de Pierre earlier, who commented that it's easy to fall in love with the new Balenciaga Paris just because of the bottle. I tend to agree. But it's not even the whole bottle that I love - it's just the lid. There's something uniquely satisfying about the fake marble stopper effect.
Grazia magazine says this is for people 'Who love the smell of: Traditional florals mixed with modern notes like pepper and earthy mosses.'

I cannot WAIT to try this one!!!
Wait-- is the lady ON THE BOTTLE? That is so weird! Otherwise, very cool...
No - it's just the photo - couldn't lay my hands on a clearer one at the time.
Like "earthy mosses" are modern...
And the crackled top annoys me, although I think the bottle shape is lovely.
But it's Balenciaga, so as soon as I can manage, I'll try it.
I will have to respectfully disagree with Pere de Pierre. When you consider the average department store dross that floods the market these days, this is a masterpiece.
For a start, the use of violet for this market is brave. I would say this is a very respectable replacement for the older version (not the ghastly current one) of Caron's Violette Precieuse while also boasting an unusually lush juicy quality that I can only think of appearing in Annick Goutal Un Matin. For me, this is rain on violets with a soft wood, earth base. And one spritz lasts about 9 hours on the skin. I will certainly be buying this.
Hi GreatSheElephant - you make Paris sounds like it could be pretty good. And LOVELY to have something that lasts a long time - which is almost impossible to find.
